Repair procedures
Removal and Installation
1.
Disconnect the battery negative teminal.
2.
Remove the engine cover.
(Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Cover")
3.
Remove the air duct and air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Air Cleaner")
4.
Disconnect the wiring connectors and harness clamps and remove the wiring protector around the intake manifold.

5.
Disconnector the vacuum pipe & hose assy (A) and purge control solenoid valve (PCSV) hose (B).

6.
Remove the connector bracket (A).

7.
Remove the intake manifold (A) with the gasket.
Tightening torque :
18.6 - 23.5 N.m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb-ft)

8.
Loosen the water pipe mountimg bolt(A).

  
When installing the intake manifold, tighten the bolts and nuts with pre-torque first, and then tighten the bolts and nuts with specified torque in the sequence shown.

9.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
